Public Beaches at the Lake of the Ozarks -- Continue

With both sandy areas for sun bathing and grassy shaded areas for picnics and parties, you'll find these beaches among the best places for barbecues, family reunions, birthday parties, and all sorts of outdoor gatherings. Showers, public restrooms, and shelters that can be reserved and rented for a very reasonable $50 a day and accommodate up to 100 people. Those not reserved are available free of charge on a first come first serve basis.

Of course, there is more than 1,100 miles of shoreline on the Lake of the Ozarks and that means that if you want to venture on your own, you can find plenty of isolated coves and lagoons for the family or just you and your dear one to enjoy some time together. The Lake of the Ozarks keeps a very comfortable range of swimming temperatures from late Spring to early Fall and that might be why Midwest residents have again and again voted it the best tourist destination in the region.

For private beaches, there are many options too. If you are camping or staying in one of the lakeside resorts you will find carefully groomed, supervised areas that are safe for the kids or the whole family to get wet and really enjoy the lake up close and personal. And of course, swimming in the lake happens nearly everywhere else too. If you want to take short and sociable swim trips, head over to the Party Cove and let welcoming hands pull you into a boat full of strangers that will soon be friends.

Officially, the only authorized swimming spots are the public beaches but unofficially, you will find great swimming just about everywhere you go on the Lake of the Ozarks. Remember though to be careful and have fun.
