Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing
at the Lake of the Ozarks

The Horny Toad Entertainment Complex, one of the Lake of the Ozarks favorite venues is proud to host the Offshore Super Series National Championship Race each September. Boaters from all over the world come to watch the event, but only around fifty of the world's fastest boats are given the honor of competing in this state of the art event at The Resort Hotel and Marina. What makes this event truly exciting is not just the high speeds the boats reach, but that it is the culminating event in the yearly series of races so this is where the winners and the losers are made.

Since 2007, this internationally famous event has been taking place at the Lake of the Ozarks. In the first year, nearly 30,000 fans came to watch. After that, the numbers have grown quite a lot. This year more than 50,000 spectators are expected to crowd the shores of the lake to see the event and keep in mind that it's only the third time the event has been at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you're worried about not finding a piece of shoreline to watch from though, you can relax, with more than 1,100 miles of shore, there is a place for everyone even if the crowds triple.

Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing at the Lake of the Ozarks -- Continue

To take part in the massive speed challenge, the competing boats line up at Race Village at the Ozarks. The final round is sixteen laps depending on the type of boat. Those who have boats, can watch the event from the water, though you should expect that there are restrictions on where you can be to ensure that everyone is safe. Fees for the best seats, music, and being free to wander among the boats and competitors are $60 per adult and this includes concert events held at the site and admission to the awards ceremony after the event is complete.

Local and nationally known bands fill the pubs and bars in the towns around the Lake of the Ozarks during the Super Series and it has come to be known as a time when the night life really comes alive. Coverage of the event is televised nationally and locally, so if you have a sunburn and would rather watch the races from the comfort of your sofa, you can do that too, though there really isn't anything to compare with the force and sounds of the fastest boats in the world going across the water like super sonic jets.
