Lake of the Ozarks Gospel Sing 2011
Back in 1997 Christian volunteers got together to figure out how to bring the uplifting sounds of Christian music back to the Lakes of the Ozarks in a way that would be fun, inspirational, and would contribute to the great times folks already have at one of America's favorite lake destinations. The concert festival was called the Cross-Over in those first years. The event debuted in it's current form in 1999 at the Stoneridge Amphitheater in Cadmenton, Missouri.
In 2001, the current incarnation was born as the huge and popular annual event was divided into two separate events. These were called the Great Lake of the Ozarks Gospel Sing and the Cross-Over. The Gospel Sing happens at Main Street Hall in the Ozarks each March and April. The goal of the Gospel Sing is still to bring great, foot pounding Christian music to the Ozarks region and it has fulfilled this goal many times since the event was first an idea. From audiences of just a couple of hundred it has grown to a major event attended annually by thousands of Christian and non-Christian fans of gospel music from all over the world.
