Lake of the Ozarks Aquapalooza 2010
During the last two weekends of July the parties and fun at the Lake of the Ozarks kick into high gear with Aquapalooza. The events are open to boaters, non boaters, enthusiasts, and just the curious. With no entrance fees, tons of live entertainment, family activities, and more than a few giveaways, this is a celebration you won't want to miss.
Last year more than 84,000 people and 15, 600 boats took part in this huge series of events that celebrate the boating and water lifestyles. The party this year happens on Saturday, July 17th at the Dog Days Bar & Grill just west of the Grand Glaize Bridge. With live music stretching from midday to around 5 pm, there is plenty of time to dry off from your water sports or hang up your golf shoes and head to the spot where all the fun is happening.

Aquapalooza 2010 at the Lake of the Ozarks -- Continue
The number one party band in the USA, Blue Orleans will start the fun with zydeco, reggae, and Bourbon Street rock that will set the lake to rocking. Throw in some blues, a bit of Caribbean music and suddenly what you've got is a hot party. Following Blue Orleans there will be performances by the LoCash Cowboys, Otis Day and the Nights, and more than a few local rock and rollers getting their groove on.
Registration for the event is mandatory at the official Aquapalooza site where you can find out about all the great venues this event is going to happen at and get the details on the Friday night kickoff party, how to make sure you have a rental slip reserved, t-shirt giveaways, and all the info you need to make sure you have a great time.
Past events have included exhibitions, contests for both the kids and adults, plenty of great Ozarks food, huge boating parties, and no shortage of dancing, laughing, swimming, and having fun. As with all events at the Lake of the Ozarks, it's important to remember that using alcohol and then operating any sort of motor vehicle is against the law and can result in losing your driving privileges, time in jail, and expensive fines so if you plan on drinking, make sure you have a designated driver.
Another thing to be careful about is the sun. Lots of folks remember to put sunscreen on their face and arms but don't put it on two key spots, the tops of their feet and their ears, make sure that you aren't one of those lobster foot or clown eared tourists who can't enjoy the fun because of the stinging pain of a sunburn.
The most important thing to remember about Aquapalooza is to have a good time and don't miss out on all the fun. This year organizers expect bigger crowds than ever so be certain to reserve your spot now and bring your camera so you can share the memories with all the folks back home.
