After the preparation is done, you'll learn how to jar them and then you can take your hard work home with you to share with friends and family. The jarred apple butter is $3 a pint or $5 a quart and if you prefer to get an apple pie, well, you'll find those too. Fresh or frozen.
Apples can be exciting by themselves, but when you add in homemade chili, cornbread, soups, sweet and tasty desserts, arts, crafts, and some homespun entertainment, what it adds up to is a wonderful day for the whole family. The Apple Butter Days Fall Festival brings out the local artisans, craftsmen, and foodies. Quilts, carvings, knitted goods, antiques, and more than one or two apples usually change hands at this popular local event.
For two days each Fall, locals and visitors can work together, eat together, and raise money for a great cause too since the proceeds from the event go towards the Camden County Museum so that visitors to the area can find out about the unique cultural history of the area year round.
This year, the 14th Annual Apple Butter Days Festival will take place on the 8th and 9th of October. Each day the events and stalls will be open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Vendors or those interested in finding more information can email staff@camdencountymuseum.com or they can call the Camden County Museum directly at (573) 346-7191.
Don't miss this great opportunity to experience a piece of history and taste a piece of home made cornbread smothered in delicious Ozarks apple butter at the same time.
