Lake of the Ozarks 4th of July Weekend
The Lake of the Ozarks fireworks displays are so big and spectacular that in recent years it's been necessary to spread the fun out over two nights. On July 3rd some of the major resorts and hotels exhibit eye popping pyrotechnic displays and then on the 4th of July the communities alongside the lake pull out the big guns, roman candles, sparklers, and even some giant happy faces that flame across the night time sky.
Great spots are available across the lake to see the shows. The public beaches are usually crowded with merry makers and families who spread their blankets out to watch from the sand or the lawn and the resorts, lakeside restaurants, bars, and private houses along the shore all offer great seating, fantastic food, and often some drink specials to help you celebrate too.

4th of July Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks -- Continue
Of course, the favorite way to see the fireworks is from the boats. There isn't much better than lying on a comfortable houseboat patio and looking directly up to see flowers and geometric fire shapes turning the night sky into an artists palate. Local radio stations will often coordinate musical programs to go with the shows but that's not the only music you'll here.
Live performances take place at most of the major venues and just about everything is open on the 4th of July at the Lake of the Ozarks. Whether you are looking for blues, rock, jazz, country or patriotic bands you will definitely find them warming up before the sun goes down and jamming well into the wee hours of the morning. It's one of the number one party days in the Lake of the Ozarks and whether you want to just enjoy the water, the sunshine, and the good summer times with the family or to head out to the Party Cove and see all kinds of people celebrating their independence on the water, one thing is for sure. Good times will be had by all.
One warning to those who will be consuming alcohol though, it is illegal to operate any vehicle while intoxicated and enforcement is particularly strict over the summer holidays. If you are going to drink, make sure that you have a designated driver for your house boat, car, jet ski, or bass boat. Violators can lose their license, be fined, and miss all the fun by spending time with the police. So be safe and have fun! Happy 4th of July!
